Hatch Warren is situated on the western side of Basingstoke Town Centre. The majority of the area was developed in the 1980’s to early 1990’s. It is a civil parish in the Basingstoke and Deane district. Hatch Warren is situated approximately 4 miles from the town centre and all of its amenities, however it is home to Hatch Warren Retail Park which offers a number of conveniences, such as a Sainsbury’s supermarket, petrol station and Pets at Home. The local newsletter, the Rabbiter, is circulated monthly and keeps all residents informed of local news around the Hatch Warren and Beggarwood region. As of the 2011 census the population was 9284.

There are various play parks dotted around the residential areas of Hatch Warren. The large Beggarwood Park services both Hatch Warren & Beggarwood and has recently been given the go-ahead to become a local nature reserve. Basingstoke Town Centre is approximately 4 miles away and provides a shopping centre and cinema. Slightly further afield is the Leisure Park where families can enjoy swimming, ice skating, bowling, fast food and another cinema.
Hatch Warren is situated on the West of Basingstoke and provides access to the M3 which provides a direct link to London and the South Coast. There are regular bus routes servicing Hatch Warren and the mainline train line is approximately 4 miles away which allows access to London Waterloo in approximately 45 minutes
