Barons Estate Agents – in the community in 2017

As a local Basingstoke business with strong ties within the community we are always actively hunting good causes to support. This year we have been approached by a number of organisations and individuals and have selected a few that we think are great, but we are keen to be involved in as many as possible which we feel represent our business and community values. Last year we engaged heavily with local schools, clubs, and individual charities and even participated in a charity bike ride ourselves!
Contrary to the perception of Estate Agents, our employees are kind hearted and are keen to be involved as much as possible within the community and as a company we are keen to sponsor as many charities as viable. So far, this year we have confirmed these as our chosen partners –

The Hatch Warren Runners, Farleigh Wallop 10k Cross Country Run – Sunday 24th September 2017 –

After the success of last year, we have been chosen to sponsor this fantastic event again. Our own Phil Sutton competed, wearing the number 1 bib although he didn’t finish number 1 by the finish! Money was successfully raised for two principle Charites which were “The Pink Place” & “Robbies Rally”  two fantastic charities, I am sure you agree!  For more information, or to enter visit –

Oakley Youth Football Clubs 6 a side Tournament – May Bank Holiday 27th – 28th May 2017

This is a new one to our list and hopefully with our input will be even more of a success than previous years. With some of our younger members of staff participating in the competition as children, we are informed it’s very popular with the youth football community across Basingstoke and Hampshire in general, with hundreds of teams and children enjoying the two days of football! Although details are yet to be posted on the website we will be sure to update you nearer the time –

The 250 Mile Challenge With Kris Garret, Jay Smith & Sara Smith. – Throughout 2017

The challenge will involve the trio taking part in a multiple of running events including half marathons, cross country mud runs and 10k races – to add to this they will also be organising and running coaching sessions for 5 to 10k runners!  This challenge is all in aid of three fantastic charities, these being the Alzheimer’s Association, The Stroke Association and Cancer research. I am sure many of us can relate to these charities and it would be great if we could help to support them on their quest to raising a minimum of £500 – For further details visit

The Ark to Arc challenge  – 12th July 2017

Baron’s director Kevin Penfold will set off on his epic Ark to Arc challenge leaving from the Ark Cancer Centre in Basingstoke and cycling to Portsmouth before getting the overnight ferry to Caen in aid of Bike 4 Cancer and the Ark Cancer Centre Charity. Kevin will then spend a further 3 days in the saddle cycling from Caen to Alencon and then onto Evreux finally finishing in Paris! Kevin will be doing this event with a number of other local participants, for more information follow this link –

Global, Make Some Noise!  Great Wall of China Trek – 31st April to 8th May 2017

Our own Charlie Mather will be taking part in an expedition across the Great Wall of China, trekking 90 miles in order to raise money for Global, Make Some Noise – a charity he has chosen which supports under privileged children within the UK. To view his fundraising page or to help him on his quest visit –

As it is still only January, we have 11 more months to try and make a difference within the community or wider! Please approach us as we would love to hear how we can help support your charity/event.
